Seville - Spanish lessons

"Sorry for the slightly late reply, I'm rarely in my room on my computer because there's so much to do and see in Seville! It's a magnificent, very safe city where it's really lovely to walk around at any time of day (or night). The accommodation is fantastic! I'm really amazed by its location: it couldn't be better situated. I share the building with many English speakers. I would have preferred to be able to speak Spanish "at home" as well, but the atmosphere is such that I quickly forget about that detail. Regarding the school, I'm (selfishly) very happy that there are few French speakers at the school, which forces me to speak Spanish or English (because there are many English or other nationalities whose level of Spanish doesn't allow us to speak at length). To answer the question of whether I'm practicing Spanish as much as I would have liked: the afternoon conversation classes are very nice, very fun, which It's very pleasant after a morning spent reviewing some grammar points. I think these three weeks (which are flying by!) will be beneficial for my Spanish. My morning teacher understood my desire to practice speaking Spanish very well. Apparently, Seville radio will be interviewing students on Monday, and my teacher suggested I participate. To be continued… Have a good day, Sophie

"It's been exactly three weeks since I arrived in Valencia and everything is going very well. I'm starting to get my bearings in the city and get used to living on my own and independently. I'm really happy with the Spanish school; I'm in the A2.1 class, I feel like we're progressing quite quickly, and the teachers are super dedicated. I also really enjoy the activities the school offers each time; they've really helped me, especially during the first week 🙂 Life in the residence is going well too; there's a lot going on, and it allows me to meet lots of people very easily. It's also in a great location; I couldn't have asked for anything better! The dishes aren't always done, and living in a shared apartment, especially with chores, isn't always as easy as I thought (especially with 15 of us!), but I'm learning a lot. As for the language itself, I'm happy because, as I've already said, I feel like I'm improving." But I'd perhaps like to have more contact with local people to be more immersed in life here and learn Spanish even faster. So I was wondering if it's allowed, given my status, to, for example, do babysitting or work somewhere? This is probably the "most significant" negative point I find here: the lack of contact with local Spanish people. In any case, thank you again for this email; I'm having a wonderful multicultural experience, and it's partly thanks to L&T 🙂

"I arrived safely in Valencia! The residence suits me perfectly; I have to say I'm lucky because it's a very international residence, and I really like that. I've already met quite a few new people, although there are a huge number of Dutch people here in the city—it's crazy! I love the school; the teachers are patient, attentive to our learning, and so kind. I've already learned so much since I arrived... I've already participated in a few activities offered by the school, and I'm actually doing one tomorrow (a paella class). A huge thank you for all the organization; I really appreciate it!! Seville - Spanish Courses - Summer

"Hello Coline, It's very kind and professional of you to check on Noémie. The trip went well. The CRIC driver was there when she was supposed to meet him and took her to her host family. The family was very welcoming and kind. Noémie took the dog, Elvis, for a walk with Mrs. V. on the day she arrived. It was a great opportunity to get to know them. There are other students: one German and two Americans. It's nice. Her room is large and even has a fan. At school, she was initially in A1 level, but she asked to change levels. She's now in A2 level. It's perfect! She's become friends with an Italian girl. The weather is beautiful and very hot (34 degrees Celsius). Everything is wonderful! Noémie is delighted.
