Eco-volunteering

Why choose this
option?

Here's a practical alternative or complement to language training. What could be more "natural" than practicing a foreign language in the heart of nature , right? A good reason to do eco-volunteering in a country whose language you want to learn.

Tired of virtual reality, online classes, lockdowns, and remote learning? Longing for real life, easing of restrictions, travel, and nature? Then eco-volunteering will give you the opportunity to (re)experience life differently, closer to nature, far from screens!

Whether you wish to participate in international workcamps, do eco-volunteering with animals in South Africanature projects at Canada or in New Zealand, of underwater monitoring on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, of the Turtle protection in Costa RicaOur eco-volunteer programs are open to you, whatever your age. In fact, we will be offering an eco-volunteer program in Ireland in 2022 specifically for those under 18. Otherwise, the minimum age is 18, but there is no upper age limit. These programs are therefore suitable for young people, adults, and retirees eager to explore new horizons.

You will practice a foreign language in the great outdoors, that's the Languages & Travel guarantee.

Eco-volunteering, in practice

Construction sites with or without language courses

Some young people (there is no maximum age limit for participating in an eco-volunteering project) sign up solely for nature conservation projects without taking language courses. Others usefully combine a period of language courses with nature conservation projects in New Zealand, allowing them to practice the language they are studying in a concrete, "on-the-ground" way.

Duration of eco-volunteer programs

The minimum duration of eco-volunteer programs varies by country: 1 week in Australia, 2 weeks in New Zealand or at Costa Rica to a minimum of 4 or 8 in Canada. There is no maximum duration limit in New Zealand, except in Canada (most construction sites close before the start of winter).
