For motivated young people aged 15 to 25 who love animals, a ranch stay in the United States offers the chance to experience a completely different lifestyle while practicing English daily. Stays range from 2 to 4 weeks , as you prefer.

Indeed, even though this stay doesn't include any formal classes, your English will improve very quickly. This ranch stay in the United States will allow you to communicate fluently by the end of the program thanks to your host family and the new people you'll meet there.

No prior training is required.

The program and the type of ranch

Ranch stay program in the United States

Each day, you will participate for 4 to 6 hours in the daily activities and tasks on the farm, while enjoying a unique experience. On weekends, you will have the opportunity to participate in activities organized by your host family.

Ranch?

During your 2 to 4 week stay on a ranch in the USA, you will be able to work in any type of agricultural operation : winery, cattle ranch, horse farm, cereals, market gardens, dairy cows, vineyards, fish farms, orchards, etc.

Be careful not to misinterpret the meaning of the word "ranch"! In the United States, it does not necessarily refer to a farm with horses, but rather includes any type of farm where animals of all kinds are taken care of (cows, cattle, etc.).

The purpose of the stay is therefore not to ride horses. Furthermore, its size can vary from a few hectares to several hundred hectares!

In a foster family

Even though you won't be paid during your stay on a ranch in the USA, you'll have the opportunity to be hosted by a family who will provide for your needs. This could be the family that owns the ranch, but in some cases it could also be a neighboring family living near the ranch/farm.

It's possible you'll stay with a family living near the ranch, where you'll be driven every weekday to participate in ranch activities and daily life, for 4 to 6 hours a day . On weekends, you'll share in the activities of your host family . This way, you'll experience two different ways of life, enriching your stay all the more.

You will have a valid passportYou will need to complete the procedure ESTA (= electronic travel authorization) only on the Official website of the USA, click hereCurrent fees: USD: $14. Please register on the website at least 72 hours before departure or you may not be able to board.

For stays of up to 90 days in the US: no visa required for European nationals (“visa waiver program”).

In which region of the USA?

You will be placed anywhere in the United States depending on the type of ranch you choose. You will not be able to choose the state. Improve your English skills and enjoy a truly unique and unusual experience during your ranch stay in the USA!

Ranches are generally located far from any town, sometimes even in isolated areas. Therefore, the arrival airport will almost always be a secondary airport in the USA.

Transfer upon arrival

Our local partner will welcome you upon arrival and provide transportation to the farm/ranch where you will spend the entire duration of your US ranch stay.

Please contact us for arrivals between July 1st and 8th due to the American National Day celebrations on July 4th.

Book your trip early enough to take advantage of the best possible airfares.

Furthermore, a minimum of 8 weeks prior to the desired departure date is necessary in order to best organize your stay on a US ranch.
