Cork City has a population of approximately 210,000. The city is compact with excellent public transport. Most of the city's attractions are within walking distance of the centre, and many are free to visit.

The city is surrounded by small towns and villages and a vast, rugged coastline considered one of the most beautiful in Ireland. The city center has a vibrant arts and culture scene and was selected as a European Capital of Culture in 2005. Several options are available for your English course stay in Cork

15 hours of English lessons per week:

  •  In the afternoon, there is an average of 8-10 students per class, with a maximum of 15.

20 hours of English lessons per week:

  • General English. To this, you can add 6 hours of general English lessons, preparing for the TOEIC or OET exam.
  • Business English (20 years old and minimum B2 level)
  • IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation / Accelerated Cambridge course (1 month)

Unless otherwise specified, classes are held in groups of 6-8 students on average (maximum 12)

Specific programs

  • TOLES Legal English (24 hours/week, minimum age 21)
  • Military English (25 or 30 hours/week): useful for preparing to join organizations such as NATO and the United Nations
  • Aviation English
  • Pre-university boost (summer only, 24 hours/week)

English course + company internship

It is also possible to take at least 1 month of English courses , and then be placed in a company in your field of study.

Student tracking at Cork English College

Teachers and the academic administration meet regularly to discuss each student's progress. Every week, teachers hold a short meeting with each student, providing feedback and advice on how to improve. There is also a brief progress test every Friday. When a student is ready to move to the next level, they will join their new class on Monday. This is the guarantee of quality at Cork English College.

Several accommodation options are available for your English course stay in Cork.

Foster family

Student residence (June-mid-August only)

Accommodation in single rooms within university residential apartments. These apartments are self-contained, with 4 to 6 bedrooms per apartment. You will have access to a shared kitchen and either shared or private bathrooms, depending on the option chosen.

This option also gives you the opportunity to meet Irish and international students. Included: Standard and en suite rooms include laundry facilities, television, Wi-Fi, bed linen, and weekly cleaning of common areas.

Entire apartments (2-4 people)

Minimum 2-week rental. These apartments are ideal for students traveling with their families or for those of you who would appreciate superior comfort. These apartments are ideally located in the city center, are of the highest quality, and offer executive-style suites where comfort and convenience are paramount.
