Semi-intensive English course

Intensive English course

The Worldwide School of English's General English courses allow you to develop your speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills, regardless of your current level. Classes start every Monday, so you can join at any time! The minimum duration of this Auckland language program is one week, and the maximum is 48 weeks. Classes run from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm (Monday to Friday, approximately 20 hours per week , with 55-minute lessons), giving you time to learn and practice outside of school through sightseeing or part-time work (minimum 14 weeks of classes on a student or working holiday visa, maximum 13 weeks of classes).

Intensive English course +

The intensive English program adds 5 hours of afternoon classes , Monday to Thursday (1:30 pm to 3:30 pm), to the 20 hours of the general program. You also have the option of taking an elective course on Friday (IELTS or TOEIC preparation, cultural activities, etc.). The afternoon classes will focus on developing your listening comprehension and speaking skills through a variety of activities, phonetics exercises, films, and music analysis. This is an excellent option for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the English language and quickly developing your skills during your language immersion program in Auckland.

Cambridge exam preparation

The University of Cambridge offers several exams worldwide that allow you to demonstrate your language proficiency to potential employers or higher education institutions. These exams are the First Certificate in English ( FCE ), the Certificate in Advanced English ( CAE ), and the Certificate of Proficiency in English ( CPE ). Worldwide School of English offers intensive exam preparation courses: 10 weeks in the summer, 12 weeks in the autumn, and 12 weeks in the spring. You will, of course, develop the English skills necessary to confidently take your chosen test, as well as learn tips and tricks to achieve the best possible score, all within the warm and studious atmosphere characteristic of WSE. You will be assessed beforehand to be placed in the most suitable level group to ensure the success of your language stay in Auckland. Classes are held Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm and from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

IELTS test preparation

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the essential prerequisite for admission to an English-speaking institution. During your language stay in Auckland, the Worldwide School of English offers you the opportunity to join its IELTS preparation program at any time of year (new intake every Monday) and take a practice test every Friday, until you have reached a level of proficiency in the language (speaking, writing, listening, and reading) and the specific techniques required for the exam that will allow you to achieve the best possible score. Preparation classes are held Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Each IELTS training session lasts 12 weeks, but you can also opt for a shorter, 4-week session. Please note that there will be two official exam sessions per month during your Auckland language stay.
