A brief history
Languages & Travel was founded in 1992 in Brussels . Born from the ambition to bring seriousness and quality to language stays.
In 2000, Languages & Travel opened its first language travel agency in France, in Lyon. This was followed in 2007 by Versailles, and then Lille and Marseille in 2009.
In July 2010, Pascal Carré, founder of Languages & Travel, took over the management of the Brussels agency he had created in 1992.
In July 2011, Languages & Travel (France) joined the ALS group to join prestigious brands such as VELA, Contacts Séjours Linguistiques, etc.
Languages & Travel today
Today, Languages & Travel, as a language travel organization faithful to its basic principles, is committed to continuing to offer quality both in terms of service and language stays abroad.
Times have changed since we started. The internet is everywhere, information is accessible at the speed of light, the choice is infinite, and the competition is ever-increasing.
Languages & Travel has chosen to be a boutique, the boutique for your language immersion trips . A boutique to better meet your individual needs, a boutique to better welcome you, a boutique to bring back the human touch to the all-encompassing online experience. A boutique, the antithesis of larger organizations, veritable language travel supermarkets. Don't ask us to do everything! What we will never offer, for example, is the second year of secondary school because we have never believed in it as a program preparing students for higher education; it is anything but. Our credo is, and always has been: effective learning.
Our language immersion programs
With this new website, we want to make a splash and highlight the language immersion programs we believe in for practicing/learning a language:
– Working holiday visa stays : or how to enjoy a long stay on a limited budget (between €1999 and €2899 payable before departure depending on the destination, without English courses). Choose Australia, Canada or New Zealand.
– Language courses : choose from a wide selection of international schools the course that suits you best: general, intensive, specific (business, law…), preparation for a language test (IELTS, TOEFL…) or exam (Cambridge, DELE…).
– Language tours : a brand new concept in language immersion! You learn while you travel. Your class moves, your classmates become your travel companions. You practice the language more intensively, in real-life situations, while discovering local culture and history. We'll get you speaking foreign languages!
– Nature projects : Languages & Travel strongly believes in practicing languages in "natural settings." You'll discover local flora and fauna, actively participate in nature conservation, all while practicing the language of the country you're visiting… and not just any country: South Africa, Australia, Canada, or New Zealand. Other countries will be added to our offerings sooner or later. These projects can be combined with paid employment and English courses.
– Paid job : another way to live in a city like London on a budget by working locally. This option is only for resourceful people who really want to work while living in a fully immersed language environment! It can, of course, be combined with language courses.
– Staying with a private tutor : This option was created about 10 years ago in response to increasingly specific and individualized requests. The principle? You stay with your private tutor, guaranteeing a true language immersion experience (no contact with other French speakers). You take between 10 and 30 hours of lessons per week. You can also replace some lessons with cultural activities. Or, if you prefer, you can choose a combined language course with a sport, sightseeing, or a specific activity. English + cooking (learn to bake cakes in England, yum!), English + tennis/golf/horse riding, but also fishing/go-karting/snowboarding (year-round in Edinburgh)/rowing (in Oxford, of course)/sailing/kite surfing…
– higher education abroad This is a unique feature of Languages & Travel, which, through its association with Study Experience (of which Pascal Carré is also the manager), is able to handle the registration process for your application to numerous higher education institutions in the following countries: Australia, Canada, the United States, and Great Britain. Interested in completing all or part of your higher education abroad? Ask us for advice! Bachelor's, Master's, and even Doctorate degrees.
– and of course some more traditional options such as language courses abroad and in Belgium (for Dutch), au pair stays (mostly combined with language courses) and company internships.
Looking forward to organizing your language stay!
